Bastion is a solid adventure RPG we can't recommend enough! Solid game play, beautiful graphics, and a solid story that builds as you play. Also it's currently on sale at Steam for $7.50, for that price buy 2 and give one away. Published by Supergiant Games this is an indie masterpiece.Set in an almost post apocalyptic steam punk environment, the game starts off quick. No hour long tutorial, you get about 5 minutes and the story starts right then. You'll soon be smashing wind bags, and collecting items all while the narrator builds the story around what you are doing. Yep, the narrator tells the story as you play. Do an epic move or make a decision and you'll likely get a gritty commentary on it. It's a pretty neat effect that adds to the game and isn't just background noise.
That is if you can stop looking at the gorgeous environment that the creators have given you. The graphics are smooth and give a vibrancy to the story and game flow. It really is like playing in a piece of art at times. There were only a few instances that the game play was too intense to figure out where you started and the bad guys ended, but even then it didn't detract from game itself.
There is a lot of game here for the price, so don't expect to be getting through this indie in a night. Steam has lots of achievements for even after you've finished the story, which as I write this I am no where close. Bottom line, for the money this is a game you should put on your short list.
